Let me help you understand what you’re downloading…

A couple of things to remember as you’re going through to implement this for your business - your marketing activities can be divided into two main categories

1) Your marketing tools (these form your Marketing Engine and are things like your website, free special reports, your book, your marketing collateral, all your creative artwork for your paid advertising campaigns etc.) The bigger your marketing engine the stronger your ability to generate quality leads will be and;

2) Your Marketing Gas. This is what drives your marketing engine and is your DISPOSABLE marketing cost. It’s what you pay for each month to drive traffic to your website or get your phone to ring - things like the cost of your Facebook campaigns, the cost of magazine advertisements, the cost for airing your commercial on TV (the commercial itself would form part of your Marketing Engine because it can be used over and over and over again.

When creating your Marketing Plan, categorize each of your company’s marketing activities into either of these buckets - is this part of your marketing engine, or is it a disposable cost and marketing gas. Most companies never focus on building their marketing engine so every month they’re just spending money on marketing gas. Don’t let this be you!
